Every little electronic device is connected to network in present world of IOT. This necessity or over ratted need put us vulnerable with respect to safety, security and privacy.
Based on the report by crowdstrike 2023 on cyber threat, below are the major findings.

In this increasing threat trend, we need a best practice in our product design to protect the user from harm both physically and mentally.
This best practice is offered by this ISO standard that provide list of best practices or guidelines to achieve a safe and secure design and not introduce or miss any vulnerability that can lead to unsafe, unsecure environment.
ISO21434 – Cybersecurity Engineering
This standard is the bible for all cyber security enthusiast to achieve safe and secure design. This standard start with threat analysis and risk assessment and ends in security case which presents that evidences that the design had gone through all it required qualification measures and complete testing in required environment.
ISO21434 deals with every level of development like System, HW and SW with respect to architecture, implementation, analysis and testing for the cyber security related requirements. This cybersecurity requirements or goals are identified through the TARA analysis.
Security is always associated with safety. If security is compromised, then safety is also compromised which will lead to life threating event if the product is used in a environment which can lead hazardous situation that involves multiple life including animals.
From next post, We will detailly discuss what this standard is having inside and how the security is ensured by using this standard as state of art design guideline.
